Tasks include:

  • Cleaning and upkeep of cat pens and equipment.
  • Sterilising of items – food bowls, toys etc.
  • Refreshing and replacing litter trays.
  • Assisting with laundry.
  • Carrying out other duties as required – e.g. polishing glass, mopping floors etc.
  • Cat socialisation (with very nervous/shy cats this can even be just sitting quietly in the pen while reading a book), playing and grooming.
  • Making notes/inform staff of any issues (health or behaviour).
  • To follow all health and safety guidelines.
  • Ensure all bio-security procedures are followed.

Own transport is beneficial due to our location – we are currently not in a position to be able to offer transport.

Training and support will be provided for this role as appropriate.

  • Monday – 13.00-16.30
  • Tuesday – 08.30-12.00 and 13.00-16.30
  • Wednesday – 13.00-16.30
  • Thursday – 08.30-12.00
  • Friday – 08.30-12.00 and 13.00-16.30
  • Saturday – 08.30-12.00 and 13.00-16.30
  • Sunday – 13.00-16.30

What attributes are we looking for?

  • Experience of owning/caring for cats.
  • Knowledge of cat care and behaviour – understanding cats’ needs
  • Capable of reading and writing observations and keeping accurate records.
  • Comfortable in a physically active role spending time on your feet.
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
  • Happy to follow instructions and new ways of working.
  • Love of cats!
